Directed by Eric Morris
Tenderly, the Rosemary Clooney Musical is not a typical “juke-box musical.” It offers a fresh, remarkably personal, and poignant picture of the woman whose unparalleled talent and unbridled personality made her a legend.
In Tenderly, Rosemary Clooney’s journey starts with her simple Maysville, Kentucky childhood and follows her rise to Hollywood stardom. With her signature songs woven in and out, we learn both the story of her successes on film, radio, and TV, as well as her struggles in her personal life – with a career fading during the advent of rock-and-roll and her battles with addiction and depression. Audiences stand and cheer as they rejoice at her triumphant comeback and even more successful career as a jazz singer.
Eric is going into his 4th year of collaborations with the Old Log Theatre. As an actor, Eric has portrayed Freddy Benson in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Robbie Hart in The Wedding Singer, and Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet. OLT directing credits have and will include Ghost the Musical, How I Became a Pirate, Lend Me a Tenor, Winnie-the-Pooh, and the upcoming Rosemary Clooney musical Tenderly. Eric recently became the Old Log’s Director of Production. Twin Cities collaborators: Mill City Summer Opera, Nautilus Music-Theater, History Theatre, Theater Latte Da, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, and Second Fiddle Productions. Regional collaborators: Dayton Opera, The Barn Theatre, Beef & Boards, Gallery Players, and the Heritage Theatre Festival.
